Phi Lambda Rho Sorority, Inc. is a Chicana/Latina based sorority, which originated from the club Flor de Aztlan at California State University, Stanislaus located in Turlock, California. In 1993, Phi Lambda Rho became the first Chicana/Latina sorority on the CSU Stanislaus campus.
Since its induction on November 13, 1993, Phi Lambda Rho continues to grow with its rich and rewarding traditions that our founding mothers worked so hard to achieve. Not only do the sisters maintain the integrity and purpose of the organization by upholding the four objectives, but they also develop character, commitment, and the responsibility necessary for tomorrow's leaders. While the organization remains small in numbers, it prides itself in the quality of its members. In the past decade alone, Phi Lambda Rho Sorority has contributed to a number of programs and organizations throughout the state working for and with the Latino community.
Today, tomorrow, and always, Phi Lambda Rho Sorority Inc. will remain the organization committed to its traditions of academic achievement, sisterhood, service, and cultural awareness. We are and will continue to be an organization unlike any other.
The purpose of Phi Lambda Rho Sorority, Inc. is to promote academic excellence at all levels of education and provide each sister with the resources and tools necessary to succeed. We pride ourselves in providing each other with a strong sisterhood that keeps us united regardless of our geographic distance. Phi Lambda Rho is devoted to giving back to our community and promoting our Chicana/Latina culture by instilling the importance of our roots and identity.
